A Hybrid Approach in Factory Automation Projects – Stepping to Industry 4.0

 pranks43

The manufacturing sector is currently faced some challenges, like higher growing production costs and dynamic market. The existence of VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity), increasingly challenges the manufacturing industry to always be adaptive to change.

Automation is one of the keys to success in this industry. Many companies are transforming to automate their production processes using robots or automatically controlled mechanisms, so today there are many automation projects in this manufacturing industry.

The challenge in Automation projects is speed, where the project is targeted to be completed in a relatively short duration with a relatively large investment value. This short project duration is not appropriate if the initiating and planning phases are carried out in great detail and require quite a long time. On the other hand, the initiating and planning phases that are too shallow will cause this big investments project not achieve the target, because several parameters for the success of project automation have very tight targets (such as cycle time, quality rate, and downtime).

Hybrid approach is the right solution to answer this challenge.

The session will be in Bahasa Indonesia.
