[Event] Agile Done Well 2019 Technical Workshop

“BUILDING BETTER WITH HUMILITY AND HUMANITY”

Two days and Two Brains: Kyle Griffin and Amin Leiman

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES

This training provides you with a fundamental understanding of Agile concepts and equips you with directly applicable practices. In this two-day technical workshop, participants will be taught on how to adopt and adapt Diamond Agile in their respective organization. Diamond Agile is a powerful tool to view the multiple facets of an Agile transformation. The Diamond Agile lens is used to facilitate group discussions around the scope and impact of Agile, as it is adopted by the enterprise. It also surfaces the pitfalls common to Agile transformations and describes how to avoid them.

The complete facets of Diamond Agile will be presented: PEPPER – People, Enterprise, Process, Product, Execution, and Reason. Participants will gain a complete understanding of the entire facets of Agile. Also, participants have the option to deepen their knowledge of the first “P” of “PEPPER” which is People or Human Agile.

Human Agile requires a personal transformation which requires an intentional acceptance of several agile values such as non-judging, intellectually humble, transparency, giving feedback openly, receiving feedback graciously, etc. Everyone has to intentionally want to change their mindset to accept and embody these values daily. Otherwise, the Agile implementation cannot be sustained and will most likely end up in failure.

In this presentation, participants will be shown the various stages of Agile implementation and how one should focus their intentional practice at each stage. There are four stages: Understanding, Incubating, Hatching, and Maturing.

Additionally, a positive change transformation tool called Appreciative Inquiry will be introduced.   Appreciative Inquiry states when two or more people combine their strengths, they will not merely perform but transform.
