EXCELLENTIA e-Newsletter

Dear Project Management Community,

Welcome to a special edition of Excellentia. October marks an important milestone as PMI celebrates its 50thanniversary and our chapter its 23rd. May the PMI journey continue to bring value for its members and beyond. The Annual Member Gathering this year is a very unique one, a cooking contest with a project management twist – like you have not seen before. The event was closed with an anniversary celebration gala dinner. A night of laughter, appreciation and friendship. In case you missed the event, we have covered the full day in this feature, see if you can spot yourself or fellow members in the photo section.

We feature also two activities carried out by our branches. Our friends in Surabaya held their first project management gathering, and Yogyakarta held their annual Project Management Challenge which attracted 24 teams to participate in the prestigious event.

Still in line with the 50th anniversary, we feature an article from the PMI HQ on the significance of this milestone, and we also feature an interesting article on how Netflix instills the company values in its employees using their “culture code”.

On behalf of the board of editors I would like to thank the contributors of this edition and everyone who has supported in the preparation of this newsletter. And again, we wish you a very happy anniversary!

What's Your
Cultural Code?

Unfortunately, core values can also be a source of cynicism. Sadly, many CEOs do not have their company’s values memorized, and countless employees can share stories of executives whose behaviors were in direct violation of their company’s values. Perhaps millions have been impacted by other forms of corporate hypocrisy.
